Highly likely.
Lyon defender Marcelo was perhaps shown one of the funniest – farcical – harshest red cards in the history of the game after accidentally flicking the yellow card out of referee’s hand.
He got booked for a foul on Angers forward Baptiste Santamaria and as he was turning away from the ref his hand touched the yellow card which went fyling into the air.
The ref did not hesitate.
Was he right to do so, however?
