Ligue 1 side Lyon are not willing to throw a towel in their pursuit of the Porto captain Hector Herrera.
The Mexican international continues to attract plenty of interest from around the European continent and is likely to leave the Portuguese powerhouse by the end of the summer transfer window.
The Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Lyon lead the line for Herrera in front of Inter Milan, adding that the French outfit is willing to double the initial proposal they made earlier this summer worth €20 million.
Porto are keen to hold on to their captain who is a crucial cog in Sergio Conceicao’s machine but are unlikely to pass on an opportunity to pocket a healthy fee for a player whose contract is set to expire in just a year’s time.
Lyon’s pursuit of Hector Herrera could send some clear signals regarding the much-talked-about future of Liverpool target Nabil Fekir who could still leave the French club this summer.
