Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas is looking to sell at least two players in January as he looks to balance the books.
The club recently announced 28 million euros losses in the past financial year, and Aulas is keen to continue to steady the ship.
“We had to sell four players this summer but we only sold two (Miralem Pjanic and Jeremy Toulalan). We must now compensate for not selling two other players, perhaps by selling them in the winter transfer window,” he told France Football.
The French businessman refused to elaborate on particular names but did hint that he is open to selling the side’s more valuable assets.
“It may be possible that we will have opportunities to sell players which we don’t want to, but that we can’t refuse,” he added.
Lyon suffered a demoralising 4-0 defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League midweek, but the president remained defiant.
“We have the players to still qualify in the Champions League and to do well in the last 16,” he affirmed.
The French giants return to Ligue 1 action on Sunday, when they travel to champions Lille.
