French giants Lyon are hot on the trail of Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz, according to L’Equipe.
Les Gones are set to complete the signing of winger Bertrand Traore from Chelsea, but they are also trying to agree a deal for the los Blancos forward.
Lyon boss Bruno Genesio is a big fan of the player and he even went to his native town Barcelona to meet the 23-year-old.
Having struggled for playing time at Santiago Bernabeu despite showing a great deal of potential, Diaz is likely to be interested in moving to Parc OL, where he is expected to take Alexandre Lacazette’s place in the starting line-up.
Mariano Diaz, 23, did well to score 5 goals in just 2 starts for Real Madrid, playing just over 300 minutes of competitive football last term.
