Olympique Lyonnais are not in a good situation right now. After a tough start to the season, their head coach Sylvinho got sacked and slowly things started getting better. But in their last Ligue 1 match, Lyon lost key forward Memphis Depay until the end of the season.
Depay has suffered a cruciate ligament injury that will not only mean he will miss this season, but also most probably the European Championship in the summer of 2020. This leaves Lyon light on their attacking options and that is why they are thinking about two players from La Liga.
According to L’Equipe, Lyon are interested in both Thomas Lemar and Kevin Gameiro. Atletico Madrid winger has done really well at AS Monaco, but is struggling in Spain ever since his arrival, whilst Valencia striker could also be the one to help out minimize the loss of Depay being felt, as the Dutchman scored 14 goals in 18 appearances this season.
