Olympique Lyon midfielder Ederson has confirmed reports that he is on the verge of joining Lazio.
The Brazilian has long ago expressed his desire to leave Gerland and he was heavily linked with a move to Italian Serie A over the last couple of months.
The 26-year-old has been in talks with Lazio for a couple of weeks now and the player now reveals it is only a matter of time before he joins the Biancocelesti.
“My agent is sorting out the final details and I hope it can all be concluded quickly,” Ederson was quoted as saying in Il Corriere dello Sport.
“Lazio have been tracking me since I was at Nice. It would make me happy to play for a club that every year is challenging for the Champions League qualifying spots.”
Ederson will not be playing Champions League football next season seeing that Lazio came just short of the final Champions League berth in Serie A, but he will get a chance to kick-start his career at Olimpico.
The Brazilian, who started his European career at Nice, but largely failed to live up to his potential at Gerland.
After spending last four years at Lyon, the midfielder is now set to leave on a free transfer.
