French heavyweights Olympique Lyon and AS Monaco are said to be locked in the battle for a highly talented Mexican youth prospect Diego Lainez.
The America winger made a Clausura debut in 2017 as a 16-year-old and went on to impress in 23 Liga MX appearances for his club.
Lainez is currently away with Mexico Under-17 side at the Torneo Esperanzas de Toulon where several emissaries from Europe’s top clubs are keeping a close eye on his with a view on a potential summer move.
According to the reports coming from Mexico, the America youngster is being tracked by Lyon and AS Monaco who are prepared to open negotiations with the Mexican club.
America will reportedly demand a transfer fee in excess of $25 million for their valued asset.
