Lyon coach Remi Garde has guaranteed his side has improved since its Champions League match at Real Madrid on October 18.

The Ligue 1 outfit was thrashed 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu to slip to third in Group D, level on points with Ajax.

Lyon are in dire need of points to remain in the race for a place in the knock-out stages, and Garde said that their defeat to Real was already behind his side.

“We have improved with regards to the match at Madrid,” he said. “Anyway, we do not prepare for a match thinking we will be soundly beaten, much less after losing 4-0.”

“This match will be very important for us, but it will not be decisive. A defeat will leave us in a delicate situation.”

“Real Madrid are in great form, but we do not have any specific plan for this match.”
