Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas has revealed that the French Ligue 1 champions are hopeful of a summer move for Juventus striker David Trezeguet, which fuelled speculation of a swap deal including star striker Karim Benzema according to Sky Sports.
Trezeguet is said to be unsettled at the Serie A giants now and is hopeful of a move away from Turin in the summer, whilst Lyon have made no secret of their desire to land the French international in the past.
Aulas said: “We wanted him two-and-a-half years ago, That is no secret, even if at the end of the day nothing came of it. Could we bring Trezeguet to Lyon now?
“I haven’t spoken to our coach about it, nor to Juve, but we do like the player. He is an extraordinary marksman, but we have Benzema…”
21-year-old Benzema has been constantly linked with a move away from the Stade Gerland and clubs said to be interested in his services include the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.ÂÂ
