El Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Lyon forward Gnaly Maxwell Cornet.
The 19-year-old only joined les Gones from Metz a year ago, but he has already managed to impress playing for the senior side at Stade Gerland.
Cornet was handed his second start of the season as Lyon faced Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes, although he couldn’t help the team avoid a 5-1 hammering.
Nevertheless, El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona scouts watched the youngster in action in said game and they were quite happy with what they had seen.
It is no secret that the Catalans lack cover for the starting attacking trio, and with the financial situation far from impressive, they are forced to look for bargain signings.
The lack of top flight experience would probably prove a problem if Cornet were to join Barcelona considering that he has started mere three Ligue 1 fixtures in his career.
