Nice captain Didier Digard has made it clear that he plans to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.
The highly rated midfielder joined les Aiglons following an unsuccessful spell with Middlesbrough and has since developed into one of Ligue 1’s best midfielders.
However, it appears he has already played his final game for the club with Digard missing the final game of the season through injury.
Namely, the 27-year-old has revealed that he plans to leave les Aiglons as he is disappointed with club’s latest contract offer.
“Unfortunately, our paths will be separate,“ Digard explained to L’Equipe. “They asked me to lower my salary.
“Basically, the club thought I wanted to leave, which is not the case. In any case, it is surprising and I was a little annoyed.“
Didier Digard is reportedly on Lyon’s radar as les Gones see him as a good replacement for Napoli-bound Maxime Gonalons.
While he initially joined Nice on loan, the midfielder was handed a permanent deal in the summer of 2011 and he has since featured in 95 Ligue 1 matches, scoring 2 goals in the process.
