Federico Macheda has revealed his desire to stay at Manchester United, despite a succession of loan deals.
The Italian striker made an impression back in 2009 by grabbing a late winner at home to Aston Villa on his debut to keep United in the title race.
Since then, however, he has failed to develop his game, going on loan to his homeland at Sampdoria last season, failing to score in 14 Serie A appearances.
Currently on loan at Queens Park Rangers, making six appearances with no goals so far, the 20-year-old’s contract still has just over two years to run but he believes he can make an impact at Old Trafford long after that date.
“I am still owned by Manchester United,” he told Radio Mana Mana.
“I don’t know what the future will hold, but I will definitely go back to Sir Alex Ferguson’s club at the end of my loan spell.”
“My dream is to establish myself in a United shirt, even though I know that will be difficult.”
“I will do all I can to make that happen.”
