Doncaster Rovers have resigned Federico Macheda on loan from Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.
The Italian had five outings for the Championship club in a three week spell earlier this season, scoring three times.
A hamstring injury cut short his previous spell, and his form for Paul Dickov’s side led to a number of clubs registering an interest in securing his services.
At just 22, the striker has already turned out for five different sides, across the countries including Queens Park Rangers, Sampdoria and Stuttgart.
He has however re-joined the South Yorkshire club, who currently sit just two points and one place above the bottom three ahead of their clash with fellow strugglers Yeovil Town this evening.
The former Italy U21 scored twice on his first start for Rovers last time around, in a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest before hitting the only goal of the game in a victory over Sheffield Wednesday the following weekend.
