Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has confirmed that the club are close to completing the signing of Blackpool forward Tom Ince.

The 21-year-old has been linked with the newly-promoted Premier League side with his father, Paul Ince, revealing that Blackpool had accepted a bid rumoured to be around £8m.

Ince, who is manager at the Championship team, also insisted that his son was in no rush to leave Blackpool and was not sure the transfer would actually go through.

Mackay, however, is positive that the deal will be completed in the near future.

“We’ve had a bid accepted. Tom’s been on holiday and we’re going to be talking to him in the next couple of days,” the Cardiff manager told TalkSport.

“It’s something that we’re very keen to push forward. He’s a very young exciting player.

“He needs to play football and that’s something his father and I both realise.”

The England Under-21 international scored 18 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions for Blackpool last season.
