Madonna helps Frankfurt get into the groove

Greece striker Ioannis Amanatidis scored in injury time to seal Eintracht Frankfurt's 2-1 victory over Karlsruhe to lift his side out of the bottom three and claim their first league win of the season.

A Madonna concert in mid-September damaged the Frankfurt pitch enough to cause the Bundesliga game to be postponed until Wednesday and both sides worked to put on a show in the dramatic last ten minutes.

Karlsruhe defender Maik Franz scored with a header in the 82nd minute, but Frankfurt equalised when Miller Liberopoulos floated a free-kick into the penalty area and midfielder Benjamin Koehler scored on 84 minutes.

Amanatidis slotted home off his right foot in injury time to lift Frankfurt up to 15th in the table and help coach Friedhelm Funkel keep his keep his job.
