According to reports over in Argentina, Lisandro Magallan is on the verge of leaving Boca Juniors in favour of a switch to European football – with Ajax. The Dutch giants are said to have agreed a fee for around €9 million, which would allow him to sign a four and a half year contract in Amsterdam. While there’s likely still some red tape that they need to get through, it would appear as if Ajax are taking the necessary steps towards establishing themselves as a top club in the realms of Europe once again.
It’s no secret that many of their top stars have been linked with moves to clubs like Barcelona and Juventus, so this is exactly the kind of news they would’ve been hoping for. They’re doing well in the Champions League this season and if they can continue to build off of that, then the next few years could mark the start of something very special.
