According to a recent report from Sky sources, Harry Maguire has passed his Manchester United medical ahead of his proposed £80 million transfer from fellow Premier League side Leicester City. The deal will see the England international become the most expensive defender in the history of football, taking the title previously held by Virgil van Dijk courtesy of his move to European champions Liverpool.
Maguire’s switch away from the Foxes has been a long time coming, and funnily enough, it has nothing to do with how he feels about Leicester themselves. It’s obvious to see that he is good enough to play for a high level team in English football, to the point where it’s kind of odd to think of him as anything other than a player that should be playing consistent European football.
Now, after his performances last year at the World Cup in Russia, he’ll finally get the move that many believe he deserves.
