The future of Harry Maguire of Leicester City still hasn’t been resolved with only three weeks remaining of this summer’s transfer window. The centre-back, who was reportedly courted by Manchester City, has recently been linked most heavily with Manchester United.
And according to Sky Sports, the England international would be “honored” to play for United, aiming to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidić. It is believed that the 26-year-old is getting frustrated with Leicester’s current stance, with the Foxes reported to have rejected two bids for his services from the 20-time English champions.
What Leicester want apparently is that the fee for Maguire should surpass the £75 Liverpool paid Southampton back in January 2018 for Virgil van Dijk, which would make Maguire the most expensive defender in the world. Manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that their valuation of the player hasn’t been met and that the club remain “relaxed” about the situation, with Sky Sports believing the last bid United made amounted to £70 million, something City have indicated they would be willing to match.
