Mahrez linked with Leicester exit

The Guardian understands that Riyad Mahrez will reject Leicester City’s offer of a new contract.

The Algeria international was named the PFA Player of the Year after playing a starring role in the Foxes’ surge to the Premier League championship.

He played in all but one league game scoring seventeen goals, a tally that was only bettered by his team mate Jamie Vardy, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Golden Boot winner Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.

Mahrez moved to the King Power Stadium from Frech outfit Le Harve and has three years remaining on his current deal, but he could be set for a new challenge.

The news would come as a blow to the East Midlands outfit, who sold fellow midfielder N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, the side they dethroned as champions just two month ago.
