Mahrez set for City stay

The Mail Online understands that Riyad Mahrez is set to remain with Leicester City for the forthcoming season.

The Algeria international, who was part of his country’s squad for the 2014 World Cup, has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal though a bid has not yet been lodged by the North London outfit with a fee of potential fee of £35m being talked off.

Mahrez was named PFA Player of the Season as the Foxes clinched a surprise Premier League title triumph, missing just one of their league games and scoring seventeen goals as well as making eleven assists.

In total, he has played ninety-one times in all competitions since signing from Le Harve in January 2014, scoring twenty-five goals.

The twenty-five year old is likely to stay with the champions, who have a new contract prepared for him as they look to secure his services for the long term.
