The agent of Inter defender Douglas Maicon has revealed that his client is considering his future.
The Brazilian full-back was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid last summer, but he eventually remained at Giuseppe Meazza.
However, Inter’s failure to offer the player a contract extension has sparked speculations that he could be sold at the end of the season.
The player’s representative admits they are talking to other clubs, but insists Inter remains the priority.
“At this moment in time we have not heard from the club to discuss a possible contract renewal for Maicon,” Roberto Calendo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“A decision should be made before June. We are looking at other offers, but Inter do remain the priority for us.”
Maicon has just over a year left on his contract with Inter worth €4 million per season, but it remains to be seen whether he will be offered a new deal.
The Neroazzurri chiefs are planning a major squad overhaul in the summer and they are expected to get rid of several experienced players.
The Brazilian full-back has featured in 18 Serie A games this season and scored one goal in the process.
