Makelele to leave Chelsea

Claude Makelele’s five years at Chelsea seem to be coming to an end this summer. The 35 year-old holding midfielder only has one year left on his Chelsea contract and his current employers are willing to let him move to another club.

According to The Independent, Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be interested in signing the former Real Madrid midfielder and they will tempt him to join them with a long term contract.

According to the report, Chelsea would receive a symbolical fee for Makelele who will then sign an initial two year deal with Paris Saint-Germain. Makelele will be taking a pay-cut if he decides to join PSG, but the value of his deal at the French club would be higher than that of his one year at Chelsea, according to the same report.
