Malaga are in pole position to sign Levante forward David Barral, Spanish daily newspaper AS has revealed.
Los Boquerones have been following the experienced striker for a while now, and it appears that it was his hat-trick in the 4-1 win over los Boquerones that persuaded them to make their interest concrete.
With Barral’s current contract with Levante due to expire at the end of the season, Malaga officials have already opened talks with his agents over a Bosman move to La Rosaleda.
The 31-year-old began his career with Real Madrid and went on to make 53 league appearances for Real Madrid Castilla before leaving Santiago Bernabeu in 2006.
Barral then enjoyed several very successful seasons with Sporting Gijon before arriving at Levante via Turkish Orduspor some two years back.
Following a slow start to the current campaign, the forward seriously raised their form in the second part of the season, bagging 8 goals in last eight matches.
