Los Blancos look set to continue the process of rejuvenation after signing Brahim Diaz from Manchester City earlier this week.

Having already brought several high-profile young prospects as future leaders of the Santiago Bernabeu club, Real Madrid have set their sights on another gem – Jose Martinez Lopez, otherwise known as Chechu.

The talented centre-back boasts great physical attributes and is an aerial force to be reckoned with. His power and versatility, which allow him to also play at left-back, have made him a target for Real Madrid.

Marca reports that the Spanish Under-17 international is inches away from becoming a Real Madrid player.

The 17-year-old joined Malaga in 2016. He was fast-tracked through the Cadet, San Felix and Juvenil A ranks this season at Malaga where Real Madrid scouts took notice of his imperial ability.
