Malaga are making extra efforts to secure the signing of Hamburg striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, according to AS.
The Dutch striker is widely expected to leave Hamburg this summer after he was refused the opportunity to return to Real Madrid, and his next destination is likely to be either Spain or England.
After securing La Liga survival, Malaga are looking to sign summer reinforcements and add more quality to what is already a star-studded squad, with los Boquerones setting their sights on Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The Holland international is reportedly interested in the project led by Sheikh Abdulah Al Thani and he was expected to arrive to Spain and meet with Malaga officials, but family issues prevented him from doing so.
However, Malaga sporting director Anonio Fernandez traveled to Germany to meet the veteran striker, thus showing that the La Liga club are very keen on the Dutchman.
Los Boquerones do face a stiff competition for the player’s signature from Tottenham, but, at least for the time being, the Spaniards are the favourites to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy.
