The agent of Lazio forward Mauro Zarate has revealed that Malaga have made a hefty offer for his client’s services.
The Argentine spent last season on loan at Inter, but he didn’t do enough to persuade the club chiefs into making his deal permanent.
With the return to Lazio looking unlikely, the player is now considering his future.
Zarate’s representative Jose Alberti claims Malaga have made a bid of €12 million for his services.
“I know that Malaga made an unofficial proposal worth €12m for Maurito and I think at the end of the day he’ll probably end up in Spain, especially as the Andalucía club are ambitious,” agent Jose Alberti told Radio Sei.
Alberti has moved to deny speculations linking his client with a move to Aston Villa, while virtually ruling out a return to Olimpico.
“Aston Villa? No, he can’t go there. He can’t remain at Lazio either, because there is one person who doesn’t want him there and that is Tare.”
Zarate left Lazio last summer after clashing with coach Eduardo Reja, but had a pretty disappointing loan spell at Inter.
The 25-year-old scored just 2 goals in 22 Serie A games, while he scored once in 7 Champions League appearances for the Neroazzurri.
