La Liga outfit Malaga are on the verge of boosting their ranks with four new players, according to AS.
Los Boquerones have seen a number of high-profile players leave the club due to severe financial problems, and the club officials are doing their best to compensate for the departures.
AS reports that Malaga are set to sign Chilean midfielder Manuel Iturra, while no less than three more players could follow.
The same source understands that the La Rosaleda outfit are closing in on Roque Santa Cruz, Javier Saviola and Andreu Fontas.
Roque Santa Cruz also has a firm offer to return to Real Betis, where he has spent last season on loan, but the presence of coach Manuel Pellegrini and his friend Martin Demichelis, as well as the lure of playing Champions League football could see him accept Malaga’s offer after all.
Barcelona hotshot Andreu Fontas is expected to arrive at La Rosaleda in search of first team football, with a season-long loan likely to be agreed in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the negotiations with Benfica over the transfer of Javier Saviola have entered the final stage, with the deal expected to be announced shortly.
