According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg are believed to be closing in on a deal that would see them sign Barcelona winger Malcom. It’s no secret that a series of top European clubs have been interested in the possibility of bringing Malcom over, but now, it appears as if the finances behind Zenit have won them the right to invest in the 22 year old. He joined Barcelona for a fee of around £36.6 million last summer, but hasn’t quite been able to establish himself in the kind of way that they were hoping. While there’s always the possibility of him re-joining the club somewhere down the line, right now, it really doesn’t seem as if there’s any kind of place for him at the Nou Camp.
Then again, perhaps this is all just going to wind up being a bargaining tool after all.
