Bordeaux behemoth Malcom admitted he was keen of leaving his current side during the January transfer window – preferably for a move to the Premier League.
The 20-year-old Brazilian has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in European football this season thanks to his impressive exploits which saw him score seven goals in 19 Ligue 1 appearances this term already.
The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham were both linked with moves for the prospect but Bordeaux new manager Gus Poyet and club president Stephane Martin were unanimous in a decision not to let their key player leave during winter.
Malcom was forced to make peace with such a decision although he has now revealed it was his ‘dream’ to move (at the end of the season).
“It’s my dream to progress in my career. I spoke to the president, he told me he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me. I told him he could count on me until the end of the season.”, Malcom said.
Bordeaux are currently sitting in eighth and still have a good chance of making it to European places.
The Ligue 1 side continue their domestic charge next weekend at home against Amiens and can be found at 4/9 betting odds to grab much-needed three points with Malcom available at 19/17 to get on the scoresheet at any time during the match.
