Paolo Maldini wants AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri to stop talking about Sulley Muntari’s disallowed goal against Juventus earlier.
Muntari’s effort crossed the line but was not awarded in the 1-1 draw between the two Serie A title challengers in February.
Allegri has brought up the incident more than once in recent weeks, and retired Milan favourite Maldini believes the coach needs to forget the injustice and move on.
“I agree that it was an important incident, but it’s in the past now,” Maldini said.
“You have to forget in order to relax and focus on your job. It’s better for both sides to avoid further controversy.”
“Milan have lost two of their three objectives for the season within three weeks. They were eliminated from the Champions League and Coppa Italia, but are still in the race for the Scudetto.
“Any team can slip up. It’s very common this season. I’d say that both Juventus and Milan have a 50 percent chance of winning the title.”
Milan are one point behind Juve in the Serie A table, with six matches left to play.
