Former Milan defender Paolo Maldini is set to join Paris Saint-Germain coaching team at the end of the season, Le Parisien reveals.
The 43-year-old has already been contacted by the club’s Qatari owners and he was at Parc des Princes to watch the game against Toulouse, when Carlo Ancelotti debuted as PSG coach.
Both sides have since confirmed the possibility of Maldini joining PSG coaching staff and Le Parisien claims that former Italian international has made his decision to accept the offer at the end of the season.
The Italian is expected to take over the role of assistant coach in charge of defenders, and he will work closely with former Milan officials Carlo Ancelotti and Leonardo.
Maldini recently revealed his disappointment in Milan chiefs for failing to offer him a coaching position at San Siro.
The 43-year-old spent his entire playing career with the Rossoneri, winning numerous honours in 25 seasons at the club.
