Market: Mackay to be next West Brom manager
Odds: 13/10 @ Bet 365
With manager Pepe Mel leaving West Brom by mutual consent, Malky Mackay has been tipped to replace him this summer. The former Cardiff City boss was sacked while in charge of the Bluebirds at the during the 2013/14 season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over and failing to keep them in the division.
West Brom were another side heavily embroiled in a relegation battle this season, but they stayed up under Mel. However, the manager has departed which means names are being heavily speculated about to take over. Alongside Mackay, Leeds’ Brian McDermott is another manager in the frame too.
It will be the Baggies third manager in less than a year for whoever comes in this summer, but Mackay is one of the names in the driving seat. The Scot recently ended his long dispute with Cardiff following his deemed unlawful sacking, which now means he’s free to talk with other clubs – with Norwich City also a potential destination for him.
