Mallorca sign Cavenaghi on loan from Bordeaux
Fernando Cavenaghi has joined Mallorca on a one-year loan, with the buy-out clause set to 3.5 million euros.
Bordeaux are looking less like title contenders by the day and after Yoann Gourcuff, they allowed Fernando Cavenaghi to leave the club as well.
The Argentine striker says he will keep good memories of Bordeaux.
“It was time to leave. I would have liked to stay in Bordeaux, but that’s life for a footballer that leaves. A career, how long does it last? Ten, twelve, thirteen years? Although I haven’t had the time to say goodbye, I’ll keep good memories of Bordeaux. Supporters often sang my name. That was still the case during my last match. I will not forget that.”
After the departure of Chamakh, Cavenaghi was expected to lead the attacking line, but it seems les Girondins had other ambitions. The player, however, stated that his departure had nothing to do with Jean Tigana.
“He is a good coach. I liked his way of work. I dreamed of playing in La Liga. When the offer came from Mallorca, I asked no questions. I was determined to meet this challenge.”

Barca’s Victor Sanchez joins Getafe on loan
After the lengthy negotiations, Getafe have succeeded in brining Barcelona midfielder Victor Sanchez on a one-year loan.
The product of Barcelona youth school spent last season on loan at Xerez and even though he was expected to play some part in Pep Guardiola’s squad this season, the boss ultimately decided to allow him to gain some more experience with another loan deal.
Sanchez have thus become the sixth signing for Getafe this summer with the club already looking prepared for both La Liga and Europa League campaign.
Getafe boss Michel was the one who insisted on Barcelona midfielder as he values the player’s versatility a great deal and he needed a footballer who can cover positions in both midfield and defence.
Victor Sanchez have already proven his undoubted potential and a season at Coliseum Alfonso Perez will definitely increase his chances of staking a claim for the place in Barcelona’s squad.

Former Roma keeper signs for Cagliari
Serie A side Cagliari have announced the signing of keeper Ivan Pelizzoli from Lokomotiv Moscow.
Former Roma goalie spent last season on loan at Albinoleffe and he will now return to Italy’s top division after the three-year absence.
His arrival could imply that Federico Marchetti’s days at the club are numbered after the Italy international was linked with Celtic over the last few days.
Pelizzoli is the product of Atalanta’s famous youth school and he also played for Roma and Reggina before moving to Russia.
The player who even has two senior caps to his name failed to make his mark in Moscow and after a couple of disappointing seasons was farmed out on loan to Albinoleffe.
He is likely to act as a cover for Italy number 2 Marchetti, although should Marchetti leave Sardinia, Pelizzoli is likely to take his place in goal.
