(GSM) – Malmö remain at a limited distance from Swedish league leaders Helsingborg following a narrow win over GAIS on Sunday.
Seemingly Helsingborg’s only remaining rivals this season, Malmö needed a victory to put some pressure on the top spot.
A goal from Ivo Pekalski in the 22nd minute handed Malmö a 1-0 lead over GAIS, one that would last until the final whistle.
The gap with the leaders decreases to just two points but Helsingborg have a chance to restoring their five-point margin in an away match to Brommapojkarna on Monday.
