(GSM) – Second-placed Malmö FF fell further off the pace in the Allsvenskan on Saturday as their 4-2 loss to Mjällby left them well behind leaders Helsingborg.

Moestafa El-Kabir opened the scoring for home side Mjällby in in the 12th minute, and the Dutchan doubled the scoring with his second goal 10 minutes later.

It was 3-0 just before half-time when David Löfquist found the back of the net, but momentum seemed to shift at the break.

Malmö pulled one goal back in the 51st minute on Daniel Larsson’s strike, and Pontus Jansson reduced the arrears to 3-2 six minutes later.

But it wasn’t meant to be for Malmö, and Daniel Nicklasson added a late fourth for good measure in a solid win by Mjällby.

Malmö are five points back of leaders Helsingborg, who play Sunday at Kalmar.
