The Hammers even attempted to sign the player this summer, and they are set to reignite their interest as soon as the transfer window reopens in January.
Jiloan Hamad has just over three months left on his deal with Malmo FF, meaning he will be available on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old has developed into a key player at Swedbank Stadion, scoring a total of 21 goals in 119 league appearances for the club.
This has been his most productive season yet, with Hamad notching 7 goals in just 21 league matches.
