According to the Metro, Chelsea winger Florent Malouda’s Chelsea nightmare looks set to continue as Santos have pulled out of a move for him.
It was thought that the Brazilian giants were keen to land the Frenchmen in January, despite not managing to secure his services in the summer transfer window – but now they have distanced themselves with a move for him.
The midfielder’s high wage demands are reportedly a big factor in Santos’ lack of a bid in the New Year as they do not feel as though they could afford what he is asking for.
Malouda does not seem to be in any of Roberto Di Matteo’s plans in the English Premier League this campaign and he has even been training with the youth team on a number of occasions this season.
Santos vice-president said: “There is no interest for Malouda, he is not in our plans and if the English press is giving details about it, it must be because some agent is telling that to them to increase his value.”
So now it looks as though the French international will need to search elsewhere for a new club or really try to catch Di Matteo’s eye in training to get himself in the Chelsea squad.
Whatever happens, this is yet another superb story to keep an eye on as on his day, Malouda is a very good player.
