Il Corriere dello Sport understands that AS Roma are considering a January bid for Liverpool stopper Mamadou Sakho.
Having conceded 10 goals in last three fixtures, the Giallorossi are desperate to recruit a high-quality centre-back, but it looks as though their primary target Mehdi Benatia will not be moving back to Stadio Olimpico.
And while Udinese’s Thomas Heurtaux remains on their radar, AS Roma are also looking at Liverpool centre-back Mamadou Sakho.
The 25-year-old has been a regular starter at Anfield of late, but he could find it hard to return to the starting line-up once he recovers from a knee injury.
And with the centre-back eager to play himself back into the first team plans of France coach Didier Deschamps, a January exit may be on the cards.
Mamadou Sakho joined the Reds from PSG as one of world’s most talented defenders, but he hasn’t exactly proved his worth in English Premier League.
