Manchester City play Southampton at the Etihad this weekend, knowing a win is needed to ensure they keep pressure on first-placed Liverpool.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw away to Arsenal, but have this season’s Premier League title in their hands as they’ve played two games less than that of the sides around them. Victory in both would put them on top spot with just a few games remaining.
Bet 365 are giving odds of 1/3 for the Citizens to get all three points against Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who have little to play for now this season. Saints are too far away from a place in Europe, and they’re miles clear of any bottom-half side.
With that in mind, Man City will look to use any advantage they can to get a much-needed win that will mount the pressure on their title-chasing rivals. City have five wins from their last six, in which they’ve only conceded one goal. The evidence all points towards a comfortable home win this weekend.
