Manchester City and Barcelona are both interested in Ivan Morante who currently plays for Villarreal B, according to The Telegraph.
The 19-year-old, a Spain U-19 international, has apparently been on impressive form this season, even though he has made just four appearances so far. Many top clubs around Europe are looking towards the future and trying to secure potential stars to be, and it seems a fierce battle between the La Liga champions and their Premier League counterparts is about to unfold for his services, while Morante himself is ready to leave his current employers and is valued at around £6 million.
The young midfielder has been tipped to play for Spain at senior level very soon, and City have been one of the clubs monitoring his progress for a long time as they prepare for life after David Silva, one of their main creative outlets in the last decade. The same goes for Barcelona, who will soon need fresh blood to step into the roles of Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets, when it comes to the middle part of the team.
