It has only been half a season since long-serving defensive stalwart Leonardo Bonucci made the shock switch from Juventus to AC Milan, but the veteran centre half could already be on his way out of the door, with the Mirror reporting that two Premier League giants are interested in acquiring his services.
Both Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly ready to do battle over Bonucci, who has discovered that Milan has not quite been the promised land that it appeared. The sleeping Italian giants looked set to awaken this season, having spent around £150m in the summer, but they currently find themselves down in ninth spot in the Serie A table, 18 points behind leaders Napoli.
Bonucci spent seven seasons at Juventus and won a remarkable seven league titles, becoming a crowd favourite and a permanent member of one of the best defences in Europe. There is absolutely no doubt of the defender’s talent, and a move to the Premier League could be the perfect final challenge for the 30-year old.
