Man City beat Chelsea, Juventus in Danilo race

Real Madrid right-back Danilo has been at the centre of intense transfer race between two Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea over the past couple of weeks.

Serie A champions Juventus have also been involved in the chase, but it was the Premier League title holders who had been tipped to complete a £31 million deal for the Brazilian defender.

Spanish media outlet Marca are now reporting of a significant U-turn in Danilo’s transfer race claiming that Manchester City have emerged as hot favourites to land the Real Madrid man. The Citizens are in advanced talks with the player who has reportedly been convinced by Pep Guardiola.

The 26-year-old is expected to boost competition at right-back with the latest arrival Kyle Walker from Tottenham.

Guardiola is expected to rotate the two players in different competitions, while Danilo can also be deployed at left-back and in expected to add significant quality to City squad.
