Much has been said in the press in England (and elsewhere) about Ederson Moraes potentially leaving Manchester City to join Al-Ittihad. Apparently, the Saudi Pro League side will have to pay at least £40 million to obtain the services of the Brazilian goalkeeper who turns 31 next month, and according to Sky Sports in Italy, City are looking at Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma as a possible replacement.
Donnarumma’s contract with PSG still has two years left to run and there were some preliminary talks about a new deal before the Euros started, but the Italy international is apparently intrigued by the prospect of moving to the Premier League and working with Pep Guardiola. The Catalan tactician apparently sees the 25-year-old as a good fit.
Donnarumma joined PSG in 2021 as a free agent. Since then, he’s made 114 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions in all competitions, conceding 113 goals and keeping a clean sheet on 39 occasions, and earned the armband of the Italy captain.
