Manchester City are not interested in signing Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester City, according to Sky Sports.
The young defender has been nothing short of sensational this season, and he’s certainly among the most influential players in the team that quite deservedly sits second in the Premier League at the moment, a point above City in third.
The failure of the defending champions to keep up with runaway league leaders Liverpool has often been put down to injuries to key players, not least the long absence of Aymeric Laporte and occasional niggles suffered by John Stones. Manager Pep Guardiola has been forced to utilize the vast experience of 34-year-old midfielder Fernandinho in the back line alongside either Nicolas Otamendi or 18-year-old Eric Garcia.
Reports have claimed that City would look to plug the gap by signing Soyuncu, while Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has repeatedly claimed the prized defender isn’t going anywhere. The player’s agent reportedly said the same. But it seems City have no intention of even trying to obtain the services of the 23-year-old Turkey international, at least not at the moment.
