Sky Italia understands that Manchester City have submitted an improved bid for Napoli playmaker Jorginho.
The Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan and he has asked the club officials to step up their interest as his other target Fred looks set to join local rivals Manchester United.
Man City have already had a couple of bids rejected as Napoli are holding out for €50 million up front, but they have now returned with an improved offer.
According to reports, the Citizens have now offered €47 million in a deal that could rise to €55 million, but they have warned the Azzurri they would look elsewhere if the transfer is not wrapped up in the coming days.
Jorginho has been a key member of the Napoli side that have set the Europe alight with their performances and it is hardly surprising Pep Guardiola wants to see him move to Etihad Stadium.
