Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo understands that Manchester City have stepped up chase for Benfica full-back Nelson Semedo.
The 23-year-old is believed to be on the radar of top European sides such as Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Barcelona, while the Citizens appear to have joined the race as well.
The Citizens plan to recruit a high-quality right-back in the summer due to the fact that both Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta could leave, and it seems that Nelson Semedo is high on their wish list.
Man City officials have already inquired about the possibility of recruiting the Portugal international at the end of the season, while it is important to note that both Man City sporting director Txiki Begiristain and Benfica chairman Luis Filipe Vieira attended yesterday’s Champions League game between Juventus and Monaco.
