Manchester City are interested in signing Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder Willian, the Daily Star understands.
The Premier League runners up have seen a bid of £34m for the 25 year old rejected by the Russian club according to ESPN Brasil, though they are considering an improved offer.
The reports come twenty-four hours after it was announced that Anzhi are looking to move on a number of their big name players as they look to comply with UEFA’s financial fair play rules.
Samuel Eto’o, Jucilei, Ewerton and Joao Carlos are some of the other members of Gadzhi Gadzhiev’s squad thought to be available this summer.
Brazil international Willian, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, has made just seventeen appearances for Anzhi since signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in January
City have already spent close to £90m in the close season following the arrivals of midfielders Fernandinho and Jesus Navas and forwards Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo.
