Manchester City are said to be eyeing a January move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, British media can reveal.
The 21-year-old Lyon starlet had already been on City’s radar during the summer when Pep Guardiola missed out on both him and Jorginho but the latest reports have it that Spaniard is keen to return for the French Under-21 international.
Ndombele was one of the standout performers in Lyon’s 2-1 victory over Man City in the Champions League earlier in September and Guardiola is said to be hugely impressed by his talents.
The Daily Star Sunday has revealed Manchester City would need to go up to £70 million in order to acquire his services, which would see then break club transfer record.
City’s summer signing Riyad Mahrez is the current transfer record after his £60 million arrival from Leicester City.
Tanguy Ndombele made nine Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon this season, notching up four assists along the way.
