Interesting news are coming out of England and it seems a bit out of the blue. After Manchester City won their appeal against UEFA, regarding their ban from European competitions, Pep Guardiola’s side is now safe in the Champions League and that means they will be ready to spend more than many have expected. But whilst City can go out and pay a lot of money for whichever player they please, they might also try and find some cheap solutions.
One such could be Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen! According to The Telegraph, Man City are considering a move to snap up the Belgian centre-back as a free agent. Guardiola’s side is struggling with their central defenders and an experienced player could help him out in the short-term.
Vertonghen is approaching the end of his contract at Tottenham and at the Etihad Stadium he is seen as a convenient solution for some of the problems they have.
