Manchester City haven’t given up the hope of signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur before the summer transfer window is shut, according to The Times.
Despite City boss Pep Guardiola repeatedly stating that the club would not have the funds required to sign a high-profile striker to replace Sergio Aguero, the Premier League champions have relentlessly pursued the England captain through the summer. Kane himself made it quite clear he would be open to leaving North London due to Spurs not qualifying for the Champions League this season, but the club have been firm in their stance he would be going nowhere. He has no release clause in a contract not expiring before 2024, and the cards are in the hands of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
City, however, recently completed the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £100 million, and it seems they’re ready to spend even more on Kane. It is believed they value the striker at £120m, and their offer is expected to include add-ons as well.
